Getting the Most Out of Conferences

Follow these tips to make your sales conference a success:

Do your research. What are you looking to learn from the event? Make sure you do your research before committing to a conference. Find out more about the organizers, speakers, and sessions you are interested in. Decide based on how engaging they are and if they align with your goals.

Map out the experience. Once you have registered for your conference, check out the speakers and sessions you are interested in. It is a good idea to make a tentative schedule so that you don’t waste time during the conference wondering what to do next. Avoid burnout by including time for meals and small breaks.

Buddy up. It is likely that there will be two sessions going on at the same time that you will want to attend. Making a friend at the conference or attending with a friend will help you avoid these scheduling conflicts. Decide which sessions are most important to both of you, divide and conquer, and compare notes at the end of the day.

Network. Make the most of your networking opportunities. Get in touch with more people by attending vendor-sponsored events, meeting new people, and mingling at the conference.
